The Hub
We would like to take this chance to welcome you and your child to the SEMH Hub, most recently named by current pupils as ‘The Hub Club’.
The SEMH Hub opened as a referral-based provision to support those finding their SEMH needs difficult to manage themselves and stopping them from accessing their full timetable in a mainstream setting.
The hub teacher is Miss Moxon and supporting us in the hub, we have three wonderful Learning Support Assistants: Miss Cain, Mrs Bond & Mrs Backhouse.
We intend to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) to feel safe, remove barriers to their engagement with school life, develop effective socialisation strategies and to teach pupils how to emotionally regulate themselves. Pupils will develop personal approaches and resources to allow them to access the National Curriculum and develop a strong foundation of knowledge in core subjects: reading, writing and number. Through a Personal Social Health and Economic Education (PSHE) based curriculum, with the involvement of targeted interventions, we aim to support pupils to feel respected; develop a sense of self-recognition; develop a stronger self-esteem; value others and equality; respect difference and be aspirational about their future.
We strongly believe that, by working together, we can help ensure that your child will reach their full potential. We communicate most things through Class DOJO, and we are always available to answer any questions! Please do not hesitate to contact us through Class DOJO, or call the office/catch us at the end of the school day to arrange a meeting.
Here’s to a fantastic year - we have a feeling it's going to be a great one!
